TRADE 4 AID
Trade 4 Aid has been established to support local charities in their world wide work through fairly traded goods made ethically by disadvantaged people in the areas that the charities are working.
All the goods are hand made and produced in an environment that is socially and environmentally responsible, using techniques that have been developed to allow the goods to be produced efficiently.
The designs are inspired by the earthy tones and rich textures of the Southern African landscapes. The hand painted technique reflects the varied textures of the natural environment while the linear details introduce an element of decorative African design.
The ranges are made from 100% South African cotton. The fabrics are painted by hand and in some ranges they are hand screened. Top quality fabric paint is used, that once applied is cured at 160 degrees C. This process makes the fabrics colour fast.
Items can be washed by machine at low temperatures but no spinning or tumble-drying should be used. Spot rubbing should be avoided, as this will cause discolouring. Ironing should be done at a low temperature on the reverse side.
